ELAC launches Navis powered speakers Debuts at CES 2019 made plenty headway at CES 2019 with their debut of a number of new speakers. The ELAC Navis powered speakers which was a stand out at the show, they also released their Vela and Carina speaker lineup, plus a new Alchemy amplifiers.
The ELAC Navis comes in bookshelf and floorstander varieties, and are priced at £1795 and £3595 respectively. They come with a new, custom-designed midrange/tweeter, with a 4-inch aluminium midrange driver and a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter mounted in the middle. It also comes with a new 5.25-inch aluminium cone bass driver, with three on the floorstander.
If you take a look inside the active speaker you will see a tri-amp pure analog amplifier, with an amp for each driver. Both speakers have a 160-watt amp for the bass woofer, 100-watt amp for the midrange and a 40-watt Class AB amp for the tweeter. They also have XLR and RCA inputs, while you get an ELAC Discovery Connect box, which comes together with the speakers.
ELAC Vela passive speakers also made its debut at the show, available in standmount (£1750), floorstander (£3495) and centre channel guises, and comes with a JET 5 tweeter with updated waveguide. The ELAC Carina range will be a little more affordable, with a bookshelf costing (£1000), floorstander (£2000) and centre, and a JET folded ribbon tweeter.
