Voxativ is known for its award-winning handcrafted full-range loudspeakers and bespoke electronics, but they have just revealed their high-end one-box package dubbed Hagen Absolut.
One box systems were once relegated to the genre ‘Lifestyle’ by many hi-fi fanatics but the minimalist systems of an all-in-one or a box-and-speakers package are on the rise, and many acclaimed brands are now offering hassle-free systems that still tickle those audiophile buds.
The Berlin-based company has just unveiled the prototype of its own one-box-plus-speaker-system at the Norddeutsche HiFi-Tage in Hamburg.
VOXATIV HAGEN ABSOLUT
The Voxativ Hagen Absolut system consists of a pair of Voxativ Hagen Speakers ($4,900) and the Voxativ Absolut Box.
The Voxativ Hagen monitors are well-respected. These crossover-less loudspeakers feature driver cones made from Japanese calligraphy paper driven by the company’s AF-1n magnet motors and have a frequency response of 60-20,000 Hz.
The second handcrafted component is the Absolut Box. Here you have a cutting-edge DAC/DSP with 2×20 Watts of Class A/B amplification – custom tailored to make the most of the frequency response from the Hagen monitors (and soon, Zeth floorstanders).
To play music, all you need is a smartphone or computer to wirelessly connect your source files. Alternatively, you can use a streaming service such as TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, etc. via the Chromecast module over Wifi or Bluetooth aptX.
Furthermore, the Absolut Box will also hook-up to other components via optical and analogue connections.
Voxativ will be bringing the system for its US debut to AXPONA Chicago in April and then on to the High End show in Munich where we hope to hear it in May.
The Voxativ Hagen Absolut costs 7,900€, and the speakers are available in black or white.
