Marantz has today launched the Marantz Melody X, a true hi-fi system featuring CD playback, DAB, music sreaming, voice control and multi-room via built-in HEOS technology all in an elegantly compact design.
Engineered and extensively tuned by a team drawing on more than 65 years of hi-fi expertise, the Melody X has been designed with the modern audiophile in mind.
Featuring four channels of high-efficiency, low-distortion digital audio amplification, you can easily configure the Melody X to drive two pairs of loudspeakers with independent volume control for each pair. Alternatively, set it to drive a single pair of speakers in bi-amping mode or in unique PBTL Mode with double the output power. Additionally, the Melody X is fully compatible with even the most demanding speakers, even 4-ohm models.
Fully optimised to reproduce the best audio performance possible, the short signal paths reduce distortion and improve the sound. Furthermore, thanks to the built-in HEOS technology, you get access to your favourite digital music controlled via an intuitive app – stream music from Spotify, TuneIn Internet Radio, Sound Cloud, Tidal, Napster, Deezer or your local music files. With additional HEOS components such as the HEOS speaker range or other HEOS-capable receivers, you get the option to play all of your music in one room or many.
Naturally, you can also stream audio from any iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV, perfectly synced to your speakers from AirPlay 2 sources.
Spoken commands via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Siri gives you hands-free operation. With this tech, you can ask Melody X to play your favourite music, turn the volume up, skip to the next track, switch inputs and more. Switch between voice assistants, or pick a favourite to use – you’re in control.
Connect your digital TV or cable/satellite set-top box and a Blu-ray or DVD player to either of the two digital audio inputs to enjoy full-dynamic-range digital audio playback of your favourite movies and TV shows. The Melody X can automatically wake when sensing an audio signal from the television and can be programmed to work with your TV’s remote for volume, mute and source selection.
The unit’s front panel features a clearly legible three-line OLED display and the compact chassis sports vertical lighting accents on the front panel – a modern-day Marantz trademark – all giving the Melody X that extra touch of quality.
Melody X is available from today, April 9th, in elegant black or classic silver-gold finishes for £629/ €699.
