Sky has unveiled details of the 4K content subscribers to its UK subscription satellite TV service can expect to see in May.
As usual, there’s a good mix of TV shows, sports events and films from both Sky’s own production studios and third-party studios, some available for download, some available as live broadcasts.
On the movie front, the highlights of Sky’s 4K additions are the excellent Mission Impossible: Fallout, Spike Lee’s Oscar-winning BlacKKKlansman, and a whole bunch of Fast And Furious movies.
When it comes to TV shows available for download in 4K, the most notable additions are Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile (a controversial drama about prolific serial killer Ted Bundy); Season 5 of Blacklist; seasons 1 through 6 of Elementary; the second season of acclaimed Sky co-production Riviera; and the intriguing looking Chernobyl miniseries from HBO.
Finally, you’ll be able to watch key live football games in 4K from the final few days of the British Premier League (the exact matches haven’t been revealed yet), as well as ongoing footage from the Formula 1 racing season that includes full coverage of the practice, qualifying and race days from the Spanish (May 10-12) and Monaco (May 23-26) races.
