China-based headphone specialist 1More has announced that its new True Wireless ANC In-Ear Headphones (EHD9001TA) are now shipping.
The latest in a line of earphones tuned by Grammy-winning sound engineer Luca Bignardi, the $200 earphones support streaming via aptX-enabled Bluetooth 5 and feature a dual-driver design that pairs a 0.4-inch titanium-composite diaphragm with a balanced armature “tweeter” in addition to a DSP-based hybrid noise-cancellation system that uses feedforward and feedback mics to suppress noise over a broad range of frequencies.
A passthrough mode that lets in ambient noise allowing listeners to stay aware of their surroundings is provided along with two levels of active noise cancellation. Level 1 suppresses unwanted ambient noise up to 35 dB and is recommended for use on aeroplanes. Level 2 blocks noise up to 20 dB and are appropriate for commuting.
A multi-functional button is included on each earbud for answering/ending phone calls, engaging voice control with Siri or Google Assistant, adjusting ANC, and controlling music selection. Volume is controlled by tapping the right earbud to increase the sound level and the left earbud to lower it.
The earphones are rated for 6 hours of playtime on a full charge — 5 hours with ANC engaged — and have a 15-minute fast-charge mode said to provide 2 hours of playtime. Up to 22 hours is possible when you factor in the three full-length charges available via the compact charging case. Wireless charging is possible with the use of a Qi-compatible charging pad (not provided).
A selection of different sized silicone ear tips and silicone ear hooks are provided to ensure a good fit. The company said the earphones are awaiting THX Certification, a rigorous testing process intended to ensure high-quality sound.
