The AH-C820W is the first headset in the world to use dual drivers with the company’s patented Denon Double Air Compression tech. What you get are two 11.5mm drivers fitted one in front of the other. The drivers move more air for powerful, tightly controlled bass despite the ultra-compact design of the headphones. The result is powerful bass, detail, and clarity, according to Denon.

The drivers are mounted in die-cast zinc and resin housings for vibration damping and rigidity. Naturally, the earpieces are ergonomically shaped for long-term comfort. Denon Acoustic Optimizer ports near the rear of the housings equalize air pressure behind the drivers. We are told that this enhances dynamics and reduces distortion.

Wireless streaming comes by way of aptX Bluetooth. Alternatively, the AH-C820W can be connected directly to a PC or laptop via USB for uncompressed sound, or to an iPhone using a Lightning-USB adapter.

Battery stamina is rated at 10 hours of listening, and the neckband can vibrate to let you know when you have an incoming call on a connected phone.

The free Denon Audio app offers audio optimization for your portable device. There is also a player interface supporting playlists and play queues, and access via TuneIn Radio.

The AH-C820W will be priced at £219 and be available from December 2018 through authorized Denon retailers.
