KEF audio has announced its LSX wireless speaker, which is a miniature version of the LS50 $2000 speaker which was launched last year, which won so many awards for being the best wireless speaker system with built wireless functional abilities.

The new KEF LSX continues with the trend for being a high performing wireless speaker system for a budget price, and rather than stick to its high price tag, KEF decided to produce a mini-me version of their LS50 called the LSX which will come with the company Uni Q driver in which the tweeter driver sits in the center of the midbass driver cone, to help reproduce uncolored sound frequency response.

The KEF LSX cabinet is made of plastic, and not with MDF board as the LS50. Much like other wireless speaker systems the body was finished with a woven fabric and comes in various finishes like maroon, blue, black and olive.
Its wireless connectivity is as good as the LS50 whether you are using Ethernet or 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band wi-fi, the LSX performs flawlessly as it should.

The KEF LSX comes with a 3.5mm aux input and an optical input, plus it has aptX Bluetooth in it and will be joined by Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect in the coming months.

KEF LSX comes with a subwoofer output to add more punch to your system, the KEF LSX can be controlled by KEF app, which will give you the ability to tune your sound and as well as control its wireless functions.

The KEF LSX wireless speaker comes with a class D amplifier that outputs 200 watts compared to its older brother the LS50 which comes with a 230 watts amplifier.

The KEF LSX comes with a DSP called Music Integrity Engine, which KEF says it has the ability to accurately reproduce sound the way it should be. KEF LSX doesn’t come with the speaker connecting cable like the LS50, which only means that you are limited to 24-bit/48kHz, it can still accept signals up to 24-bit/96kHz even as high as 24-bit/192kHz.

The KEF LSX wireless speaker system will be available soon for worldwide shipping
